Additional Support

Additional Support

For additional or specialist support in the three areas of Emotional Wellness I have listed some recommendations local to Gloucestershire and links that may be of help wherever you are.

Physical Body

Nutrition - Kate Birch- Scanlan

Kate is a Biochemist and Nutritional Therapist.
She uses Nutritional Therapy and other methods such as tapping and mindfulness to enhance the healing capabilities of the body.

Good nutrition is essential to mental and physical well being. However, what works for one person may not work for another even if the foods they are eating are  perceived as healthy, so part of the process is about taking small steps to connect back to yourself and find out what works for you.

Get in touch with Kate to find out more.

Movement - Jayne Avery

Jayne specialises in helping people to move easier, improving flexibility, inner / ‘core’ strength, balance and posture and also helping them to feel happier, more relaxed and body confident.
She has 18 years of full time experience and qualifications in helping people with their fitness and wellbeing.

Originally qualified as an Advanced Fitness Instructor in 2000 Jayne has since gained many other qualifications including Pilates, Yoga and Positive EFT.
Jayne is passionate about health and wellbeing (emotionally and spiritually as well as physically) and believes in uniting body, mind and soul!

 Fulfillment/Sense of purpose

Singing - Age UK

It’s no secret that singing is great for both body and mind. Singing in a choir is uplifting and releases a flurry of endorphins, the body’s natural ‘feel-good’ hormone and the joint sense of purpose created by coming together in harmony as a group can give you a real emotional lift.

Based in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud and Cirencester. For more information visit Age UK's choir webpage.

Volunteering - Volunteering Gloucestershire

Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you as helping others can reduce stress, ease depression, boost mental processes and provide a sense of purpose.

Visit Volunteering Gloucestershire to discover volunteering opportunities that appeal to your passions.
